𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝗪𝐇𝐘?
For example, if weight loss is your goal, start by asking WHY then repeat this five more times each time you give an answer.
Here’s an example I used with one of my clients.
1️⃣“Why do you want to lose weight?”
Because I am not happy with the way I have let myself go, and want to lose 4 stone.
2️⃣“Why do you have to lose 4 stone?”
Because I want to fit back into a 32inch pair of jeans.
3️⃣“Why does that matter?”
Now I’m at 42inch and 15 years ago when I was in a 32inch pair of jeans I looked great.
4️⃣‘’Why do you want to look better?”
Because when I look good, I feel good about myself.
5️⃣”Why do you want to feel good about yourself?”
Because when I feel good, I’m confident and that impacts so many areas in my life: my assertiveness at work, my relationship and my improved enthusiasm to socialise and meet new people.
Just from a simple few questions you now know the core reasons to your WHY. Then use this to help remain committed to your WHY.
Now give this powerful exercise a go yourself.
Remain committed to your WHY!!
I recommend after completing this exercise to look at this weekly to remind yourself WHY you initially started this journey. Of course, there will be bumps along the way. There will be days that you feel like giving up. When things do not appear to be a complete success, look at your WHY and continue your efforts climbing over any hurdles. Always remember to remind yourself WHY.
